Antoine Isoir-Provençal was born circa 1664 in Aix-en-Provence, Bouches-du-Rhône, France. Son of Blaise Isoire and Françoise Sarbacan, he married Marie-Thérèse Rainville, daughter of Jean and Elisabeth Delagueripière, on February 5, 1669 in Beauport. From this union were born 7 children. Upon his arrival in New France, this maître de chaloupe (boat master) settled in Beauport. His wife died on February 7, 1727 in Beauport and he followed almost two years later on January 8, 1729. He was buried the next day.
