Pioneers of the Rapidieux family

Jean-Baptiste Rapidieu-Rapidiou-Delarapidie-Lamer was born and baptized on August 20, 1667 in Lezignac-sur-Goire, Charente, France. Son of Antoine Delarapidie, a ploughman, and Laurence Cordeau, he married Françoise Fleury, daughter of François and Marie-Jeanne Gilles on January 2, 1701, in Montreal. From this union were born 10 children. He is a navy troops soldier of the Compagnie de La Mothe when he came here in 1700. He settled in Montreal, then St- Laurent. He died on February 28, 1724 and buried on March 1, 1724 in St- Laurent.
