Pioneers of the Joseph family

Joseph Debussat-St-Germain was born and baptized on May 11, 1727 in St-Germain-de-Montbron, Charente in France. Son of Jacques and Marie de Lagarde, he married Marie-Catherine Brouillet-Bernard, daughter of Robert and Marie-Catherine Lorion, on April 4, 1758 in Montreal. The couple had 9 children. Once widowed, he married Marie-Thérèse Beaudreau-Graveline, daughter of Paul and Marie Tessier-Lavigne, on May 6, 1782 in Repentigny. From this union no child is born. He is mentioned in the country for the first time in 1756 as a grenadier of the troops of Montcalm in the regiment of La Sarre. He was buried on December 21, 1792 in Repentigny.
