Jean Bourassa was baptized on April 1st 1634 in Bazoges-en-Paillers (Vendée), France. Son of Jacques Bourasseau and Françoise Fauchard, he marries Perrette Vallée-Vallay, daughter of Nicolas Vallée-Vallay and Madeleine Major, on October 1665 in Québec City. Seven children were born from their marriage. A widower, he marries in a second union, Catherine Poitevin, widow of Adrien Isabel, on November 4th 1676 in Ste. Famille de l'Île d'Orléans. Four children were born from their marriage. He comes to Québec City in 1657. In 1667, he settles in Lauzon. He dies in Lauzon on January 20th 1718, where is burried, one day later.
