Let’s see how to do genealogical research in the database. First, make sure you are logged into your account. Your name should appear at the top of the page. If you are having trouble connecting, please refer to the video entitled "Login". Click on "Search" in the menu at the top of the page. You can choose to search through marriages, by birth or death by clicking on the corresponding buttons. You can also perform a simple search or an advanced one. We recommend that you start with a simple search, in order to familiarize yourself with the search engine. Watch the video "Genealogical Advances Researches" for more details. In this video, we will make a search by marriages, to show you how simple it is to do your genealogical search with Click on “Marriages”. It is not necessary to fill out the four boxes to do your research. A first and last names are required minimum. It may be, for example, the name of the husband and the name of the wife. Click "Search Ancestors". You will get a chronological list of the marriages that match your search criteria. Choose the right one. For more information, click on the year, the municipality, the name of the husband or the wife's name. You will get a family file, containing information on the date and place of marriage, as well as the parents and children of the spouses. To see the full family file, note that you must have a subscription. You can see at any time the number of vouchers available in the Additional Information to the right of the page. Also note that the data found in your research is not added automatically to your tree. You will have to note them somewhere to be able to add it later. If you wish, you can get a copy of the original record of the marriage by clicking on the appropriate icon. You can also try to find out more about a person by clicking on the magnifying glass that appears atoriginal record of thely toyment.your details and choose your payment type.ry of the first pioneer of the familythe person have the right of its name. You will get a chronological list of information relevant to the person. Here, no additional information is exactly the one you are looking for, such the christening of Guillaume Robitaille, son of Pierre Robitaille and Geneviève Fluet. Now return to the family file. You noticed at the bottom the table that contains information about the marriages of the couple's children. You simply click on the names for more information. To find your ascending to the first arrived in New-France, for instance the first Robitaille, simply click on the name of the parents. You get a new family file, in which you have to click again on the name of the parents, to go through some 200 years of history!
