How can members ask for corrections or additions to the database?

We encourage our members to let us know about changes or additions they deem necessary to the database.

Before asking for such a change, a member must first make sure the marriage has been celebrated in the territory now covered by Your Folks . If not, our working process does not allow us to make that kind of change because our database is, in fact, built by progressively adding marriages parish by parish. We may temporarily have incomplete information on a couple in the following circumstance: 

• We may have created a family record for a couple whose marriage we do not have
• That is the case when the couple is mentioned in the official marriage record of some of its children. We then create a family record with an undetermined place for the parents, and an approximate date (determined from the date of its know children's marriages).

For changes and additions to marriages celebrated in the territory that is currently covered by Your Folks , the following information should be sent to us by email:

• The data we have in the database for that marriage
• The complete change suggested by our member
• Why our member believes his data is better than the one in the database.
