William I Reardon, age 84 of Wareham, formerly of Brockton, died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Tobey Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary (Callahan) Reardon. Born and raised in Brockton a son of the late William P. and Phyllis (Narducci) Reardon, Bill had made his home in Wareham for the past twelve years. Bill attended Brockton High School and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1964 he began a career with the City of Brockton police force and retired in 1982 as a detective. He also enjoyed a personal hobby of buying and selling high end automobiles. Bill was an avid golfer and had been a member of Little Harbor Country Club in Wareham. He was also a member of the Bertocci Club in Brockton and the Marconi Club in Sagamore and a life member of the Elks in Wareham. Bill was very sociable and seemed to know everyone and was always ready to help you out of a jam. His true joy in his life was his family. Bill was the father of Thomas M. Reardon, Lynne Josselyn and Cheryl Mallard and her husband Kevin Mallard all of Brockton and the late William I. Reardon, Jr. He was the grandfather of Tanya DeLorey, Kimberly and Joseph Mallard, William T. and Brooke Reardon all of Brockton and great grandfather of Avianna, Jaiden and Shylah. Visiting hours were held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday 4-8pm. A Funeral Service was celebrated in the funeral home on Friday at 10:30 am.
