Obituary of William Brodie

BRODIE, William "Bill" May 5, 1920 - October 10, 2002 It is with immense sadness that we announce the departure of William "Bill" Brodie of Edmonton at the age of 82 years. Bill was born in Seremban, Malaysia and lived in Seria, Brunei Darussalam until 1987 when he moved to Edmonton to be with his sons and families. He was known for his patience, kindness and thoughtfulness; he loved his family and friends dearly. Other than being an avid stamp collector, he loved watching and smelling the roses around him. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Winnie; sons, Harry (Florence), William (Lucy), Bernard, also known as Barney (Rose) of Calgary and daughters, Sylvia (Maurice) of Hampshire, UK, Barbara and Janet (Hussain) of Seria, Brunei Darussalam; brother, Joe (May) of Miri, Sarawak; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; five step children and their families; many dear friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his first wife Emban Brodie. In celebration of Bill's life, there will be a viewing and prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday October 16, 2002 at Hainstock's Funeral Home, 9810-34 Avenue. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday October 17, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 7508-29 Avenue. Bill's final resting place will be at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Sherwood Park, where a service will be held on Saturday October 19, 2002 at 4:30 p.m. Hainstock's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 440-2999.
