Obituary of William Allan

William Allan April 24,1930-March 25,2015 Our Dad passed peacefully at Mt. St. Joseph's hospital after a second valiant battle with pneumonia. Born in Paisley, Scotland, Bill immigrated to Canada in 1956 and soon joined the B.C. Telephone Company for a long, diverse and satisfying career. Away from his switchboards and telephones, he was a keen gardener and an avid fisherman, spending many peaceful hours beside his favorite rivers. Bill was a devoted husband and father, and a friend to many. He leaves behind his beloved Marion, daughters Elaine and Dawn, and son Glenn. Survived by brother Jimmy, he is predeceased by his sister Jean and brother Charles, sister in law Joyce and brother in law Jimmy. Bill will also be missed by his grandchildren Diane, Shawn, Paisley, Michelle, Danielle, Tavish, Willow, and great-grandchildren Nicholas and Brianne. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 26th at 1pm at Hillside Place, 8400 Forest Grove Dr. Burnaby (#127-multi-purpose bld.) *overflow parking on Forest Grove Dr.When death's dark stream I ferry o'er,A time that surely shall come;In Heaven itself I'll ask no more, Than just a Highland welcome.
