Obituary of William Allan


ALLAN William T., 87, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Born in Jersey City and raised in Union City, he resided in Fair Lawn for fifty-five years. He was a parishioner of St. Anne R.C. Church in Fair Lawn. William proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. William was a proud union electrician for over fifty years with I.B.E.W. Local 164 in Paramus. William had a great love for life, filling his younger years with golfing, skiing, boating and photography. He was always a car enthusiast and was a long standing member of the Secaucus Pistol Club. In later years, he was an avid gardener and bird watcher at all three of his residences, here, at the Jersey shore and Vermont.Beloved husband of Jeane (Borghi) Allan. Cherished father of William J. Allan and wife Mary, Christopher P. Allan and wife Laurie, Lynn A. Decker and husband Gary and the late Gail Allan. Devoted grandfather of Beth, Billy, Caty, Jessica, Brian, Anne and Julia. Dear brother of Paul Allan and the late Charles Allan.A funeral mass is planned for Friday, December 16, 2011, 10:30 AM at St. Anne R.C. Church, 15-05 St. Anne Street, Fair Lawn, NJ. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797-3500.In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William may be made to Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, 8588 Potter Park Drive, Suite 500, Sarasota, FL 34238.
