Ayer, bartender at the Nashoba Club; 61 AYER Thomas F. Picard, 61, a longtime resident of the Ayer area died Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston after a lengthy illness.Tom was born in Boston, July 17, 1948, a son of Walter F. and Mary (Curran) Picard and was a 1966 graduate of Assumption Preparatory School in Worcester. He later continued his education at St. Anselm's College inManchester, New Hampshire.During the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Army. During that period, he was stationed in Vietnam and Germany.Before his retirement last year, he worked 17 years as a bartender at the Nashoba Club Restaurant in Ayer. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Ayer.He was a former member of the American Legion and VFW Posts in Ayer.He is survived by three sisters, Marcia A. Sullivan of Shirley, Carol R. Madigan and M. Linda Ramos both of Ayer. He also leaves nieces and nephews.PICARD A funeral Mass will celebrated 11 am Monday, November 2, 2009 at St. Mary's Church, 31 Shirley Street, Ayer. Burial will be private. Calling hours are 2-5 P.M. Sunday at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte 2A) Ayer.
