BRODIE, Thomas CharlesThomas Charles Brodie, 90, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Harry and Betty (Fay) Brodie. A proud graduate of Regis High School, Fordham University and the Stern School of Business at NYU, Tom spent over 40 years working in the Tax Department at Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company in New York City. He retired as the Corporate Comptroller in the late 1980s. His work in later years provided Tom and his late wife, Jane, the opportunity to travel to many places in the world, most notably the Brodie heritage land of Scotland. His involvement in the Holy Name Society, guiding CCD classes, and decades of calling Bingo at St. Mary's Church in Closter, NJ were important to him. In retirement Tom and Jane enjoyed travelling the world, especially once they found cruising. He was a kind and peaceful man who will be missed by his family and many friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Tom was predeceased by his brother Wally and nephews, Brendan Lawler and John Brodie. He is survived by his son, Thomas; daughter, Anne E. (Jeri Vargo); brother, Harry (Angela); sister, Peggy (Brendan) Lawler; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Ehrhardt and Roberta Brodie; nephews, Laurence, George and John Ehrhardt, Stephen, David and Christopher Lawler, Kevin, Patrick and Mark Brodie and nieces, Phyllis Heilborn, Victoria Morse, Jeanne Franklin and Barbara Smith, as well as many great nephews and nieces. The family would like to thank all the staff at Chatsworth at PGA nursing facility, and especially his aides, Cordell McFarlane and Kerry Mitchell and his friend and helper, Melanie Moran.
