Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 102 years of age. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy and sister Marg Smith. Frederick is survived by his son Harold (Irene), grandchildren: Keith (Sondra) and Shawn (Kim), great grandchildren: Tao, Brady, Taelyn and Brynn, as well as other relatives and many friends.Fred served in the artillery in Holland during WWII and later joined the clergy serving in Churches in Rocky Mountain House, AB, St. Alban's in Port Alberni, Port Alice and Port Hardy. Upon his retirement Fred moved back to Port Alberni to be closer to his family where he was an active and involved member of St. Alban's Anglican and later Trinity Church, leading a bible study until at 98 years of age, he was unable to continue. In addition to God and his people, Fred loved to garden, mountain climb and he lived all of his 102 years to the fullest.A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Trinity Church, 4766 Angus Street with Rev. George Pell officiating. Cremation has taken place. Stories and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.chapelofmemories.ca.
