Obituary of Sr-Walter-McCoy McCoy

MCCOY, SR Walter McCoy, Sr., age 97, was born June 6, 1912 and departed this life June 15, 2009. He was affectionately known as “Shelly.” Mr. McCoy was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Reverend Tevis & Rosalee McCoy, two sons, James McCoy and Walter McCoy, Jr., nine sisters and five brothers, all of whom preceded him in death. He leaves a loving sister, Rudine Skinner (Arthur) to celebrate his life. His memory will be cherished by his faithfully devoted granddaughters, Cynthia McCoy Bryant (Willie), Josephine Caldwell (Steven) and a host of family members and friends. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Life through the Word Ministry, 4943 Beach Blvd., Elder Robert Stanford, Sr., Pastor. The cortege will assemble at 1543 Swift Street at 10:00 a.m. The late Walter McCoy, Sr. will rest in the mortuary for visitation of friends Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and in the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
