MCKAY, RUTH ELEANOR AILENE (nee Klatt) Passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013. Born on June 4, 1925, Ruth was the youngest child of Johann and Florentina Klatt of Lemberg, SK. Predeceased by all 13 siblings: John, Matilda, Millie, Ted, Karl, Minnie, Archie, Edie, Louie, Anne, Martin ("Shorty"), Hank, and Ernie, and her husband of 43 years, Donald Alexander McKay (1921 - 2000). Survived by her daughters Brenda (Baine) Fritzler (Adam, Megan, Rachel), Linda McKay (Paul, Alexander), sisters-in-law Lucy Klatt, Tess Klatt, Edie Klatt, Rita Ascah, brothers-in-law Ed McKay, Corbett McKay, and Rod McKay and many nieces and nephews. Family was important in Ruth's life. She loved following the sports and activities of her grandchildren, playing bridge, gardening, golfing and watching the Blue Jays. She lived the majority of her life on a farm west of Cymric, SK, later retiring to Govan with her husband Don. Her last 18 months were spent at the Nokomis Health Centre. A Service of Remembrance will be held Friday, June 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Govan SK. Interment at a later date. Donations in memory of Ruth may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Govan SK. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hansen's Funeral Home, Strasbourg SK.
