HATFIELD HILTON Ruth-A. After saying goodbye to all her children, Ruth Hatfield died peacefully in her daughter's arms on December 8, 1998 at the Villa Mont Royal, TMR, Quebec. Longtime resident of Rosemere, Quebec, daughter of the late Don Carlos Hilton and Margaret Archibald of N.S., Ruth was in her ninety-first year. She was a dietician, class of 1928, Acadia University, Wolfeville, N.S. She was a prolific writer and at the age of eighty-eight, the published author of the book "My Lifetime of Words". Dear wife of the late Gordon Hatfield of Saint John, N.B. Loving mother to Wilsie (Carroll Shannon), Douglas (June Lyons), Donald (Anne Padbury), and Margaret (Bob Herman). Predeceased by youngest son Thomas, during the Ocean Ranger disaster of 1982, and brothers Smith, Bob and Edgar Hilton. Loving grandmother to Kelly (Jeff Whitehead), James, Alan (Lisa), David (Anne), Cathy (Tim Wilson), Timothy, Jason, Mark and Ryan Hatfield, Elizabeth (Joris Wiggers) and Natasha Herman. Loving great-grandmother to Nicole Whitehead, Emma Wilson and Jillian Hatfield. Also survived by her sister Mary Wells of Toronto and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life is planned for December 12, at 12 noon at the Rosemere Memorial (United) Church, 200 Grande Cote, Rosemere, Quebec, J7A 1H4. Arrangements with Armstrong Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Road, D.D.O., for cremation. Interment in Rideau Memorial Gardens at a later date. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Rosemere Memorial Church Memorial Fund at the above address in Ruth's memory, would be gratefully acknowledged. God sees the little sparrow fall.
