Obituary of Robert-Joseph Keenan

Robert Joseph Keenan of New City, NY, died at home on Tuesday, October 29, 2002. He was 71 years old. He was born on November 22, 1930 in Fort Edward, NY. Bob was a teacher at Nyack High School for 30 years. During his career he coached Varsity Football as both an Assistant and Head Coach. Bob was active in the labor movement and in many other community organizations. He was President of both the Nyack and Rockland County Teachers' Unions for many years. He was awarded "Man of the Year" in 1981 by the Rockland County Building and Central Trade Council. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances, three sons: Patrick and his wife Irene of Stony Point, NY, Robert, Jr. of Manhattan, Sean and his wife Suzy of West Nyack, NY and grandchildren: Tim, Kristina, Amanda and Kayla; two sisters: Helen Carpenter, Patricia Keenan, and a brother, James Keenan of Hudson Falls, NY. Visiting will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 PM and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at St. Ann's RC Church in Nyack.
