Mortimer Duggan, 79 (formerly of Framingham,) died peacefully at home in the arms of his family and was passed to the arms of the Lord on July 8, 2010. Devoted husband of 52 years to Janet. Loving father of Terri Duggan Mee and her husband Jack of Medway, Paul Duggan and his wife MaryBeth of Framingham, Judy Duggan Wilfert and her husband Ron of Pepperell, Bill Duggan and his wife Christine of Duxbury. Adoring grandfather of Sean Paul, Kevin, Ryan, and Kyle Mee of Medway; Casey, Haley, and Lindsay Duggan of Framingham; Julia, Thomas Paul, and Emma Duggan of Duxbury. Caring surrogate grandfather to Emma, Max and Sophie Pendrill of Scarsdale, N.Y. He is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Daley, Eleanor Hutchinson and brother Joseph Duggan Sr., and many nieces and nephews. He has gone to join his parents Elizabeth (Donohue) Duggan and Cornelius T. Duggan and his siblings Cornelius (Buddy), John, Patricia, and Daniel Duggan. He leaves behind countless friends that he easily made throughout his life. Born and raised in Waltham, attended Northeastern University and entered the U.S. Coast Guard in 1951. He served three years of active duty as a Yeoman 2nd Class on the U.S.S. Duane where he received the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. After his honorable discharge he worked in the Commercial Paper and Graphic Arts industries for many years. He retired to the Cape on March 17, 1999 to pursue his love of golf as a member of the Cranberry Valley Golf Course and his passion of watching his favorite team the Boston Red Sox. He was a lifetime member and past Post Commander of V.F.W. Post 6260 in Wayland. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Framingham Chapter and a member of the American Legion. He will be remembered for his endless compassion, generosity, and unique brand of humor. Celebration of his Life 4 - 9 p.m. July 15, 148 Belmont Rd., West Harwich. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. July 16 at Holy Trinity Church in West Harwich, Rte 28. Interment will follow at The National Cemetery, in Bourne.
