ETHELSTON, Miriam Louise - It is with great sadness that the family of Miriam Ethelston announces her passing on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at her winter home in Kissimmee, Florida. Miriam was born in Port Bruce, Ontario on June 22, 1930 to the late Stanley J. Stephens and Oneita (Munro) Stephens . She attended Aylmer High School and then business college before starting her career at the Bank of Montreal in Aylmer, where she worked until retirement. Miriam was deeply involved with the scouting movement for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors, travelling and cooking and was affectionately known to her many Florida friends as “the bread lady“ for the hundreds of loaves she would bake. Miriam is survived by her husband Herbert Brotherton of Lansing, New York; sons Ray Ethelston (Edith) of Elliot Lake, Don Ethelston of Campbell River, B.C., Mike Ethelston (Deb) of London; daughters Susan Sekerak of Aylmer, Lorelei Whitelaw (Jimmie) of Ingersoll; grandchildren Chad, David, Melissa, Angela, Michael, Justin, Mark, Nichole, Danielle and Jimmy. Miriam is also survived by her brothers John, Jim and Bob Stephens as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Carl Ethelston of Aylmer. The Rev. Don Graham will conduct a service at St. Paul's United Church in Aylmer at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 9, 2008. Interment of ashes to follow at the Aylmer Cemetery. 10977939
