Obituary of Mary-Lee-Thornton Crocker

-->Mary Lee Thornton Crocker SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mary Lee Thornton Crocker, 91, formerly of 2778 Cowpens-Pacolet Road, passed away Monday, December 22, 2008 at Valley Falls Terrace. Born January 15, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Jessie Whitaker Thornton, and the widow of Mack Crocker. Mrs. Crocker is survived by two sons, Jack Wesley Crocker and wife, Elaine, Billy Vess and wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Judy Cline and husband, Ernest, Maxine Tate and husband, Randall, all of Spartanburg; and one sister, Beatrice Mabry of Cowpens. She was the loving grandmother of David Cline and wife, Kandi, Jennifer Nesbitt, Sophia Leonard and husband, Tim, Doug Vess and wife, Cathy, Jack Crocker Jr. and wife, Christine, Michael Crocker, Kevin Tate, Josh Tate and wife, Tonya, Jeremy Tate and wife, Amanda, and Brianna Cline. She was also a loving great grandmother of Matt Ross, Richie Ross, B.J. Nesbitt, Landon Tate, Kailey Tate, Daniel Vess, Tracie Vess and Teresa Vess. She also has one great-great grandchild, Emily Ross. Mrs. Crocker is predeceased by four brothers, Paul, Thomas, Elbert, and Johnny Thornton; and three sisters, Nell Arthur, Lois Thornton, and Fannie Thornton. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Timothy Waldrop and Rev. Wilbur Key. Visitation will follow the service in the fellowship hall of Horton Memorial Weslyan Church.
