Obituary of Marion Peterson

PETERSON , Marion Leona June 27, 1923 - May 1, 2010 Marion passed away peacefully at McKenney Creek Hospice on May 1. Predeceased by her parents Dan and Hattie, her sister Lucille and brothers Leon, Lloyd and Clifford, she is survived by her brothers Vern (Gladys), Noel and Bruce (Loretta). Marion was kind, loving, generous of spirit and will be sadly missed by friends and family. Marion graduated from Business College in Calgary, where she subsequently taught. Later she worked in Victoria, and then settled in New Westminster and worked at Manpower until retirement. Her numerous hobbies gave her much enjoyment in later years - she was a gifted crafter, an expert seamstress, learned to play the organ, and enjoyed photography. Marion's last years were difficult, but with the help of her faithful sister Lucille and her own great strength, she carried on without complaint. Both sisters were an inspiration to their nephew, who was grateful to be permitted to assist them. Thanks and appreciation to the caring staff at Carlton Gardens, Eagle Ridge Hospital, Burnaby General Hospital, McKenney Creek Hospice, Rehab on the Move and Dufferin Care Centre. Marion will be remembered at Dufferin Care Centre, 1131 Dufferin Street, Coquitlam, B.C. V3B 7X5 at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010.
