Obituary of Marion-Elizabeth Peterson

ObituaryMarionElizabeth Peterson, 87, a resident ofLehigh Acres since 1970, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2003 while under the compassionate care of Hope Hospice. Marion was born September 7, 1915 in Brooklyn, New york to the late John and Elizabeth (Ring) Schreiner. She was married to the love of her life, Ellis M. Peterson on October 22, 1937. Marion was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church. Marion was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #291 and Amaranth Court #70 Lehigh Acres; and the Daughters of the Nile, Ft. Myers. Marion was a loyal member for many years and was priveleged to serve in a variety of offices. She held the office of Past Grand Ruth in New Jersey. She was a member of the Hobby Club of Lehigh Acres and enjoyed square dancing. Marion and Ellis shared many fondmemories with their friends in the Air Stream Travel Club. Marion is survived by herhusband of 65 years: Ellis M. Peterson; one son: Ret. Lt. Col. John (Judi) Peterson, Riverview, FL; one daughter: Diane (Bruce) Gore, Chatham, MA; four grandchildren: Kirk (Yuka) Peterson; Drew Peterson; Todd (Kim) Gore; Melanie (Brian) White; two great grandchildren: Anna and Joseph; one sister:Alvene (Harold) Scholtes, Lehigh Acres. Funeral Services for Marion will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday from Christ United Methodist Church, corner of Homestead Road and Lee Boulevard.
