Obituary of Margaret-M. Potter


CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. Margaret M. Potter, 89, a resident of Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care Center, formerly of Ushers Road, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Albany Medical Center. Margaret was born August 25, 1916 in Amsterdam, N.Y., the daughter of the late Alphonsus and Lydia Morrison Stewart. She was a graduate of Amsterdam High School and the Amsterdam Hospital Training School of Nurses and received her nursing license from the NYS Education Department. She was employed as the director of in-service at the Glendale Nursing Home, the Schenectady Department of Health and was a nurse at the Loving Kindness Daycare of Clifton Park until her retirement. Margaret was a member of the Fruitful Vine Christian Church-North, Ft. Edward and the CSEA. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband George M. Potter, who died in 1981, and a sister, Helen Nicklaw. Survivors include her loving son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Lori Potter of Rexford; her loving grandchildren, Rebecca (Phillip) Hayes, Timothy and David Potter, all of Clifton Park, and Jonathan Potter of Springfield, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2006 at the Fruitful Vine Christian Church, North 49 Broadway, Ft. Edward, NY 12828. A calling hour will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Memory's Garden Cemetery, Colonie. Memorials in Margaret's memory may be made to the church. Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065, 518-371-5454.
