Obituary of Manuel-D. Goncalves

GONCALVES, MANUEL D. Manuel D. Goncalves was born on May 10, 1930 in Pova de Penefirme, Portugal. He passed away on August 31, 2005 in Miami Beach, FL. Son of the late Pulqueria and Antonio Goncalves. He is survived by his wife Ethel Goncalves, son David and wife Catherine Goncalves, daughter Christine and husband Edward Bedder, grandchildren Alexander, Madeleine, and Zoe. Siblings Jose' Goncalves, Antonio Goncalves, Maria Jose' Alves. Manuel resided in Bethel Connecticut and Aventura , FL. He was a member of the Danbury, CT. and Yonkers NY Portuguese-American Clubs, and an active member of Local 780 Cement Masons Union of NYC, where he worked as a mason for 45 years. He was a proprietor of Gonsa Contracting Corp. of Yonkers, NY. Manuel was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and gardening. His passion in life was found in working hard, helping family and friends, and the sharing in good meals with loved ones. A Funeral Mass will be held on October 8, 2005, at Saint Mary's Church, 26 Dodgingtown Road, Bethel Connecticut 06801.
