Obituary of Kathleen McMahon

Waterford - Kathleen (Higgins) McMahon, 67, of Waterford, the beloved wife of William J. McMahon for forty three years, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013. She was the daughter of Maj. Gen. Fred Higgins (retired) and Virginia Lee Higgins, born in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 13, 1946. Kathleen was an active member of PEO, Chapter AH, East Lyme. She was very involved in promoting women's sports and was vice president of softball for Waterford Little League South. Kathleen attended Chaminade High School in Dayton, Ohio and Marymount University, Arlington, Va. She is survived by her sisters, Susan Musial and her husband, Dennis, of Indiana, and Nora Taylor and her husband, Richard, of Alabama; her brother-in-law, Paul McMahon and his wife, Phyllis, of Connecticut; her sister-in-law, Jean Wilmer and her husband, James, of Georgia; four nephews, three nieces; and nine grandchildren. She is predeceased by her father, Maj. Gen. Fred Higgins (retired); six dalmatians, Pepper, Ashes, Pumper, Little Guy, Mack (Chief) and Cocoa and an orange Maine Coon Cat, Spunky.
