Joseph V. Mazza died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at his home in North Brunswick, N.J. He was 85. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Rd., North Brunswick, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church, New Brunswick, N.J. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Born in Westfield, N.J., Mr. Mazza lived in Westfield and New Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick in 1963. He was an electroplater at New Brunswick Plating Company before retiring in 1998. Mr. Mazza was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a life member of the North Brunswick Township Volunteer Fire Company 3 and was a life member of the Middlesex County Fire Police. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Clark-Moetz Post 2319 in Milltown, N.J. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ann Sica Mazza; two sons, Joseph H. Mazza of North Brunswick and Robert Mazza and Karen Kaczmar of Edison, N.J.; his daughter, Geraldine Dotoli and her husband, John, of Medford, N.J.; brothers and sisters, Tony Mazza, Charlie Mazza, Eleanor Alimonti and Mildred Monroe; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
