Obituary of John-Paul Martel

VERGENNES - John Paul Martel, 52, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at Helen Porter Health & Rehab after a long illness.Born Nov. 6, 1956, in Burlington, he was the son of the late Thomas Paul & Janet (Maisoneauve) Martel.He moved to Barre and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1975. He also attended the University of Vermont and Trinity College.He enjoyed football, baseball and fishingSurvivors include his sister Paula Duchaine of Salisbury, and his brother Jim Martel of Connecticut.He was predeceased by his father in 1978, his mother in 2008, and his brother Thomas Paul Martel in 2008.Memorial contributions may be made to the Evergreen House, 17 Court Street, Middlebury VT 05753.A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009,at 11 a.m. in Hope Cemetery in Barre.Arrangements are under the direction of Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home in Middlebury.
