Obituary of John-A. Brun

LOWELL -- John A. Brun, 58, a lifelong resident of Lowell and an Vietnam War veteran, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Brigham & Women's Hospital, in Boston, following a brief illness.He was born in Lowell on July 11, 1947, son of the late William H. and Dorothy (Mason) Brun. He was educated in Lowell schools.Mr. Brun was a Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1969 as a sergeant.He was a former member of the VFW Post #662 Plain Street, and a former member of the Club Passe Temps.He enjoyed golfing, fishing and billiards.He is survived by a brother, William M. Brun of Lowell, a sister, Susan Simone and her companion, Robert Grant of Lowell; three nephews, William Simone of Raynham, Mass., Freddie Simone of Lowell, and Michael Brun of Raymond, N.H.; two nieces, Kristin Simone and Gina Schrieber of Ashland, Mass.; also several great nieces and great nephews.He was also brother of the late James Brun.
