Obituary of Jean-Nash-Guthrie Cavanagh


Cavanagh, Jean Nash Guthrie, passed away peacefully at her home in Pompano Beach on May 13. Jean was raised in Birmingham, AL and worked in the city's steel industry for over 25 years. A lifelong Methodist and a loving mother, daughter and wife, she had a vibrant spirit and enjoyed travel, socializing and dancing at the old Ireland's Inn. Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Cavanagh, sister Alvis Boone and parents Ella Wallace and William Richard Nash. She leaves her devoted daughter Lynn (Bob) Frazier of Ft. Lauderdale and son Greg Guthrie of Pompano Beach along with grandchildren Amy (Jim) Abril and Justin Frazier of Ft. Lauderdale and Robbie (Patti) Frazier of Birmingham, and great-grandchildren Jax and Ella Abril. Special thanks to Maxine Jordan, Jean's wonderful caregiver. Services will be held May 16 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East in Birmingham. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of SE FL, 309 SE 18th St., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316.
