Obituary of Jean-Frances Alexander


Jean Frances Copp 1921-2006 RIVERSIDE-ALBERT, NB - Jean Frances Copp, 84, of Riverside-Albert passed away on November 20, 2006 at the Dr. George-L. Dumont Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Jean was born in Albert on December 17, 1921 the daughter of the late Thomas and Ameila (Morrissey) Alexander. She was a housewife and worked as a cook at the Fundy Seagull Restaurant in Alma for many years. She loved all animals especially horses and dogs, having a passion for bulldogs and poodles. She would always have her dogs with her. She also started riding horses at the young age of seven. She was the type of lady who could do anything she set her mind to. She had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent looking after them. She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her quick wit and strong personality once you met Jean you would never forget her. "Forever in our hearts" She will be deeply missed by her husband, Donald A. Copp; her four daughters, Janet Rossiter (Walter) of Riverside-Albert, Audrey Griffith (Brian) of Riverview, Charlotte Nelson (Brent) of Riverside-Albert and Faye Rossiter of Hopewell Cape; her three sons, Donald Copp (Beverly) of Edgett's Landing, Gary Copp (Elaine) of Riverview and Philip Copp (Barb) of Coverdale; her 19 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and by one great great granddaughter. Jean was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Allison; four brothers, Ned, Clare, Allen and Murray; four sisters, Millie Smith, Lulu MacDonald, Eva Alexander and Florence Nichols. She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday evening, November 21, 2006 from 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 11am with Mr. Hugh Morrissey Officiating. Interment will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, N.B. Donations to the S.P.C.A., Dr. Georges L-Dumont Hospital Pallative Care Unit or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
