Obituary of James-R. Sherry

SHERRY James R. Sherry, age 83, beloved husband of Mary (Healy) Sherry of the Lordship section of Stratford, entered eternal life Monday, September 25, 2006 at Bridgeport Hospital. Jim was born May 20, 1923 in Westerly, R.I. He was the son of the late Owen and Pearl (Sullivan) Sherry. He grew up in Pawcatuck, and attended the local schools. He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and graduated from the University of Rhode Island with an engineering degree. Jim and his wife have been Lordship residents since 1976, and Jim retired as an engineer from Sikorsky Aircraft after 43 years. Survivors in addition to his wife include two brothers, Owen Sherry of Pawcatuck, and Jim-s twin brother, Maurice Sherry of Stonington; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, (Tomorrow) September 28, 2006 at 10 a.m. by meeting directly in Our Lady of Peace Church, Stratford Road, in the Lordship section of Stratford. Interment will follow in Saint Michael-s Cemetery, Pawcatuck, Connecticut. The William R. McDonald Funeral Home, Stratford, is in care of arrangements.
