JOHN ROBERT FAY - BURLINGTON - John Robert Fay, 79, died peacefully at home on Oct. 15, 2013, with his family by his side. Bob was born in Colchester to Laura and John Fay on Feb. 19, 1934. He attended Cathedral High School and served our country as a Navy sonar man in the Korean War. Returning from overseas, Bob graduated from the University of Vermont with an Electrical Engineering degree and was a dedicated, career employee of IBM for 32 years. Bob was an usher at St. Anthony's Church, was a referee for Burlington Amateur Hockey Association, and took pleasure in family genealogy. Bob enjoyed time with his best friends on the golf course; loved: Florida sunshine, sharing the family garden harvest, wood working, tending to his apple trees, riding the tractor, and visiting with dear family and friends sharing good food and laughs. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pauline; daughter, Debra Fay-Artist and her husband, Michael; aunt, Emma Fay; sister, Paulette Peters; brothers and their loving wives, Lionel and Susan Fay, Paul and Vicki Fay, Alan and Kathy Fay, and Neil and Carol Fay; sister-in-law, Claire Chalifoux Fay; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Claude Fay. A special thank you to wonderful neighbors and our family for all of the support. Funeral services will be privately held.
