Obituary of Helen-W. Mullen

Helen W. Mullen August 25, 1913 - October 12, 2007 ÊNorwich - Helen W. Mullen 94, of Salem Turnpike died Friday at the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. She was born in Norwich on August 25, 1913 daughter of the late Thomas H. and Bridget (Duggan) Mullen. Ms. Mullen was a teacher at the Elizabeth Street School in Norwich for thirty years. She belonged to the Explorers Travelers Club and took many trips with friends and other teachers. Helen was a member of the New London county teacher's association. Ms. Mullen was a communicant of Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Norwich. Helen was predeceased by five brothers Francis, Thomas Jr., James, George and Arthur Mullen. She is survived by one niece Andrea Mullen of Milford, CT and one nephew James Mullen of Auburn, Alabama, several great and grand nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 3PM at St. Joseph Cemetery in Norwich. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CT Humane Society 169 Old Colchester Road Quaker Hill, CT 06375. The Cummings - Gagne Funeral Home Norwich has been entrusted with Helen's arrangements.
