Gerald Edward Britton July 10 1952 - July 15 2008 Morning! Our brother Gerald has lost his yearlong battle with cancer of the larynx and has died peacefully in hospice at Laurel Place, Surrey. He will be missed by son Patrick and his own brothers and sisters; John (Mary) of Edenberg Texas, Jim, Lawrence (Jody) of Vancouver, Robert (Paulette) of Halifax, Estelle Lefurgy (Ed) of Ryder Lake, Rita, Frank (Pam) and Peter (Vicki) of Vancouver and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his son Patrick's mother, Hilda (ne?e Dyck) and her family. Gerald was born in Montreal to a large and loud family. Predeceased by both his father John Phillip Britton (1975) and mother Estelle Britton (1985). The majority of the Britton family moved to Vancouver in 1968. Gerald served in the armed forces followed by work in the banking and financial industry around the Vancouver Stock Exchange. He will be most remembered as the "morning man" at the Surrey Canada Revenue Agency office while stationed there first as a Commissionaire and then as an employee of the CRA. Our thanks to the staff at SMH N51 and N52, Drs McGrath, Herbert and Minhas and the staff at Laurel Place hospice. Cremation and a private family service will be held as requested with a public memorial to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements by Fraser Heights Funeral Home.
