Francis N. Lindsay April 1, 2011 Francis N. Lindsay, 87, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was a high school graduate of Syracuse Vocational and attended University College. He served with the Merchant Marines during World War II. Francis worked in the engineering department of GE, retiring in 1986 after 37 years. He was a member of the Fayetteville United Methodist Church, a Shriner, a Mason and was the first male Girl Scout leader in Onondaga County. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards and loved to travel. Francis' greatest love was his wife and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was predeceased by a daughter, Nada, in 1953; a son, Norman, in 2005; his wife, Brenda, in 2005; a grandson, Sean Truman, in 1992; four sisters; and one brother. Survivors: his wife of 65 years, Georgette Taliercio; three daughters, Jodi (David) Truman of Wilmington, NC, Denise (Frank) Lazarski of Syracuse and Danielle (Donald) Veator of Manlius; a son, Robert (Sheila) Lindsay of North Syracuse; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fayetteville United Methodist Church, E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville, NY 13066.
