Obituary of Frances-Isabelle Cox


TITUS, F. ISABELLE "IKE" - The death of Frances Isabelle "Ike" Titus of Saint John, wife of the late Donald V. Titus, occurred on August 25, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 21, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Wilford and Helena (Crandall) Cox. Mrs. Titus was co-owner of Titus Grocery with her husband for many years and was an active member of St. James Anglican Church, Lakewood where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. Ike volunteered with Meals on Wheels for over 11 years, loved nature and writing poems about the life in the Maritimes and even had some of her poetry published. Her hobbies included fishing and handcrafts. She is survived by one son, Donald of Saint John, NB one sister, Norma Vallis of Fredericton, seven grandchildren, Christine Evans, Paula Titus, Norma Little, Michael Titus, Jason Titus, Jerry Chiasson and Marlene Turner, ten great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, Kenneth D. Titus, daughter-in-law, Alma Titus, brother, Aubrey Cox and granddaughter Jennifer Titus. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Lakewood, on Monday, August 28, 2006 at 2:00 pm. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
