Obituary of Ellen-W. Manning

Ellen W. Manning DOVER - Ellen W. Manning, 92, died Thursday, November 13, 2014, at St. Ann Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Dover June 25, 1922, the daughter of John and Ellen (Redden) White, graduated from St. Mary Academy, Dover High School and Mt. St. Mary College. Born in Dover, Ellen was a longtime resident of Prospect St. and for the past 12 years has resided at Bishop Gendron Apartments. She was kind and gentle woman loved by everyone who knew her. Ellen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. Her greatest joy was time shared with family. Ellen was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. Members of her family included 5 daughters, Mary Ellen and husband F.J. Fleming, Jr. of Naples, Fla., Elizabeth and husband Charles D'Amour of Longmeadow, Mass., Joan and husband Conrad Roberge of Andover, Mass., Janet and husband Robert Smith, Jr. of Dover and Jennifer Manning of Dover; 2 sons, Bernard J. Manning, Jr. and wife Lizzie of Springfield and John W. Manning of Dover; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn White of Dover; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Bernard J. Manning, her daughter, Margaret Manning, and her brother, James P. White. Friends are invited to call Sunday November 16th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Parish of the Assumption, St. Joseph Church, 150 Central Ave. Burial will follow in St. Mary New Cemetery.
