Obituary of Elizabeth-J. -Edem Keefe

Elizabeth J. Edem Keefe, 89, of North Syracuse, died Friday after a three year battle with cancer. Betty was born on October 23, 1925 in Syracuse to the late John and Elizabeth Butler Edem. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School. She was a loving wife, a special mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. Betty is survived by her husband of 68 years, John W. Keefe; her children, Kathleen (Robert) Bowers, Michael, Patricia (John Reed), Susan (Michael) Tutor and Kevin; grandchildren, Allyson and Ashley Bowers, Stacey, Michael and Stephanie Keefe, Kirk and KC Reed and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Kellen Reed and JJ Alberici. She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Edem Gridley. Services at Fergerson Funeral Home and burial in St. Mary's Cemetery will be private.
