Obituary of Douglas Thompson

THOMPSON, Douglas - Peacefully and with dignity, after a courageous battle at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice with family by his side on Thursday, July 16, 2009; Douglas passed away at the age of 75 years. Best friend and beloved husband of Emilie (Filion) and the late Lois (Montgomery). Cherished father of Dawnda Fedchak (Dan) and Laurie Pucci (Anthony). Most wonderful step-father of Patti Muncaster (Perry) and Christopher Lima (Lourdes). Proud Grandpa and best buddy of Nicholas & Andrew Fedchak, Gracie, Olivia and Martina Pucci, Nathan and Katie Muncaster and Derrick Thompson. Son of the late William and Grace Thompson. Brother of Violet Atkinson (late Andrew) and late Eleanor Prowse (late Wilfred), Edward Thompson, William Thompson, late Elsie Steinke (Earl) and Marjorie Patterson (Gerald). Brother-in-law of Marie Edwards, Ann Ruschpler (Wolfgang), Cindy Underhill (Glenn) and Jane Filion. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews and especially Rosemary Proulx. Douglas will always be remembered by the many school children on his bus. At Douglas' request, a private visitation was held. Memorial donations made to A.R.C.H. would be appreciated by the family.
