Obituary of Dorothy-Smith Davis

DOROTHY SMITHDAVIS, 92Artist & Art Teacher WINTER HAVEN - Mrs. Dorothy Smith Davis, age 92, passed away May 1, 2008 at home of natural causes. Born in Broadalbin, N.Y., on June 20, 1915, she came to the Lakeland/Winter Haven area from Syracuse, N.Y. more than 25 years ago. She was an artist and art teacher. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband Russell F. Davis, Aug 17, 1984. Survivors: Karen Davis, daughter, of Winter Haven; Richard (Dick) Davis, son, ofMcKinney, TX; Betty J. Weaver, sister-in-law of Yucca Valley, CA; threegrandchildren: Rick Davis, Alexis Jasek, and Matt Nelson; and eightgreat-grandchildren. A memorial service will held at the Winter Haven Worship Center, 1835 Overlook Drive, SE, Winter Haven, FL on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Winter Haven Worship Center, P.O. Box 2940, Winter Haven, FL 33880. An exhibit of her miniature paintings is currently on display in the WinterHaven Public Library throughout the month of May. She was a member of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors & Gravers Soc-iety of Washington, D.C.
