Obituary of Dorothy-J. Miller

Dorothy J. Miller, 71     PORTLAND - Dorothy Jane Miller, 71, formerly of Falmouth, passed away peacefully Tuesday March 28, 2006 at the Barron Center after a long illness.      She was born on July 13, 1934 in Kingman, a daughter of William F. Williams and Hazel Alice (Brown) Williams. Dorothy was educated in Portland schools, married Nelson F. Miller, and together they had two children.      Dorothy was a true homemaker who enjoyed making her house a home not only for her children and husband but also for all of the family. She liked cookouts and was good at baking and making desserts. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and crafts. She also liked to play board games and cards. Dorothy was known as a jokester who appreciated a good prank and the funnier side of life.     Most of all Dorothy will be remembered as someone who was always there for her family. Her family was her life.     She is survived by her son, William Miller of Kansas City, Mo.; her daughter, Pamela Willette of Portland; her sister, Velma Clark of Westbrook; her grandchildren, Jennifer Breen and her husband John and their sons Ryan and James of Portland; Jonathan Miller and his wife Sandy and their son Jackson of Portland; Sean Willette of Portland; and William Miller of Milwaukee, Wis.      She was predeceased by her husband and her sister Thelma Jipson.     Visiting hours will on Friday March 31 from 5-7 p.m. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins, 199 Woodford Street, Portland. The funeral service will also be at the funeral home on Saturday, April 1 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Alton King officiating.
