GENEVA- Dorothy I. "Dottie" Alexander, 87, formerly of Sonyea, died Monday (December 27, 2010) in Geneva. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday (Dec. 30) JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel St., (Route 408), Mount Morris. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday (Dec. 31). The Rev. Charles Tyo will be officiating. Interment will be in Mount Morris Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Teresa House, 21 Highland Rd., Geneseo, 14454 or ones favorite charityShe was born the daughter of William and Irene (Bedoar) Mosley on June 17, 1923 in Rochester. She was a 1941 Graduate of Charlotte High School in Rochester and a 1947 Graduate from the U of R School of Nursing. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Livingston County SNF in Geneseo. She has also worked at Noyes Hospital in Dansville and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was a 48 year member of the Hally-Allen American legion Post 1341 Auxiliary in Sonyea. She loved to play the organ, was in a golf league at Keshequa Golf Club in Sonyea, was in the Red Hats in Mt. Morris and Geneva and the Geneva Woman's Club. She obtained her private pilots license at the Perry-Warsaw Airport in 1974 and was a member of the 99's Women's Pilot organization.She is survived by her four children: Kathleen (Gary) Crolli of Pennsylvania, Keith (Karen) Alexander of Dansville, Sharon Walburn of Geneva and Timothy (Helyn) Alexander of North Carolina; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn (Rick) Eickhorn of Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law: Marguerite Alexander of Mendon, Mary Russ of Arizona, John Alexander of Canandaigua and Virginia Kirkpatrick of Avon; and many nieces and nephews.
