MILLER, DOROTHY A., 87 years young and longtime resident of Louisville, died Monday, July 7, 2008 at Jewish Hospital. Born Dorothy Jane Anderson on May 19, 1921 in Winston-Salem, NC, the only child of Raymond A. and Myrtle E. (Fears) Anderson, her family moved frequently during the Depression due to her father's job with Swift & Co. She graduated in 1938 from North Side High School in Ft. Wayne, IN. Dorothy was a retired federal employee after 30 years of service, a member of NARFE, AARP Shively Chapter, Shively Women's Club and WELCA, devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, former member of Christ Lutheran Church and the old Memorial Lutheran Church. She sang beautifully in many church choirs. She was a nurturing, bright, witty and loving friend of many. Survivors are her daughters, Susan L. and Carole L. Miller; and faithful guard cat Bluebelle. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2304 Crums Lane with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 8 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., and after 9 a.m. Thursday at her church. Expressions of sympathy may be made to her church Memorial Fund.
