Obituary of Della-Gertrude Thompson

HOWLAND and BUCKSPORT - Della Gertrude (Miles) Thompson, 97, passed away April 11, 2011, at a Howland health care facility. She was born April 29, 1913, in Lowell, the daughter of Wilmer and Nellie (Spencer) Miles. Della taught school in Grand Falls for a time, and worked at St Regis Paper Mill, Bucksport, for 33 years. She loved playing Bridge and going out to eat with family and friends. She is survived by her stepchildren, Pauline and Milton Doane of Enfield, Raymond and Carolyn Thompson of Brewer, Dorothy and William Williams of Sun City, Ariz., Patricia Thompson of Howland and Mark and Roberta Parker of Passadumkeag; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Russell Cummings; second husband, Frederick Thompson; two stepdaughters, Alice Reardon and Dallas Parker; a stepson, Richard Thompson Sr.; stepgrandson, Thaxter Reardon; and two sisters, Annie Wallace, and Marion and Raymond Clukey.
