Obituary of David P. Parks


David P. Parks, 58 of Franklin died January 29 in his home. He was the husband of Jane S. (Anderson) Parks. Born in Milford, February 16, 1952, the son of Elda (Heavner) Kamphenkel of Uxbridge and the late Philip R. Parks and step son of Fred Kamphenkel of Uxbridge, Mr. Parks had lived in Hopedale for many years before moving to Franklin where he had lived for 17 years. A talented machinist, he had worked for several area machine shops. David loved to work with his hands whether it was working on old cars, woodworking or helping his family and neighbors with fixing and building things, he was always happy to give a hand. He loved the outdoors and to garden. Mr. Parks served in the Navy during the Viet Nam War attaining the rank of Seaman First Class. In addition to his wife and mother and step father he is also survived by his children, Daniel Parks of Danvers, Heather Lyles and her husband Dodd of Grafton, Devin Parks and his wife Aline of Whitinsville, Christopher Parks and Stacy Parks of Franklin. He is also survived by his sisters Joyce Gareri of Uxbridge and Karen Connors of Blackstone. David is also survived by his grandson Joshua and his three beloved dogs, Angie, Maggie and Mohawk. His funeral private service will be held on Friday, February 4th in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5-9 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber St. Medway. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Metro West Hospice and Homecare 85 Lincoln St. Framingham, Ma 01702.
