WINSLOW -- Darlene R. Roberts, 49, passed away on Jan. 15, 2011, in Bangor, after a long courageous battle with lung cancer. Darlene was born on Oct. 1, 1961, in Belfast, the daughter of Edwin and Wanetta (Wilson) Colcord. She attended school at Searsport District High School. Darlene loved to spend her time crocheting blankets for her close loved ones, scratching her $1 scratch tickets and playing cards with family and friends, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was employed for several years by Living Waters Spiritual Center in Winslow.Darlene was predeceased by her loving fiancŽ, Ronald Rancourt, of Waterville; her special loved one, James J. St. Amand, of Fairfield; and her father, Edwin Colcord. Darlene will be deeply missed by her mother, Wanetta Wilson; her four children, Crystal Colcord and significant other, George Munn (Uncle Obama) of Newark, N.J., James P. St. Amand and significant other, Lisa Sayers, of Winslow, Paige Douglas and significant other, Jeffrey Douglas, of Winslow, and Michael La Rouche of Winslow; sisters Dolores Craven and her husband, Ian, Debra Grant and husband, William, and Denise Colcord and her four-legged companion, Nitro. Her four grandchildren are going to miss their "MeMa" -- Kamrin J. St. Amand, Logan J. and Liyah Douglas, and Dylan Jakob.She is also survived by her special friends, James P. St. Amand of Skowhegan, Cindy Davis of Waterville and Leslie from the retreat house located in Winslow; and by many nieces and nephews. Darlene's family would like to give a special thank-you to the Alfond Cancer Center of Augusta for making her feel so welcomed. The nurses all knew her by name and made her feel comfortable and welcomed. She would always leave and say, "them girls are always so great and happy." A special thank-you goes to Dr. Mag of the cancer center for all his wonderful care. She was always kind-hearted, thoughtful and had a heart of gold. She was not only a wonderful mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law and aunt, but a true friend who was always there. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. A gather will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Union Hall, next to Big G's, in Winslow.Arrangements were made through the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville.
