Obituary of Douglas-William Shearer

Douglas William Shearer, 76, of Maggie Valley, N.C., passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 at Medwest Haywood. He was born Sept. 29, 1935, to the late George and Ruby Ziegler Shearer. Douglas was a big-hearted man who truly loved his children and grandchildren. His family and friends knew him as a perfectionist in everything he accomplished. Douglas had a very special love for his "Lucy". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Carlton Sr.Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marcia; three sons, Clay (Kim), Bobby (Lisa "Lucy" Urquhart), and Greg (Sydney Milan); one brother, Thom (Charlotte); four grandsons, Brad, Scotty, Kyle and Mathew; and numerous nieces and nephews.There will be a private memorial service held at a later date.A message of comfort may be left to Shearer family and guest registry may be signed at www.garrettfuneralsandcremations.com
