DAVY Clement Joseph January 2, 1925 - June 8, 2006 Clement Joseph (Kelly) Davy, beloved husband of Vi, Airdrie, for almost fifty-eight years, passed away peacefully after a short and courageous battle with lung cancer. Kelly was born in Calgary, Alberta, the youngest child of Joe and Dolly and is survived by daughters, Elaine (Aurelio), Sandra (Karl); grandchildren, Suzie (fiance Gene); Ashleigh; Karen (David); Lesley; great-grandchildren, Alex, Nathan; Nicole, Matthew, Adrianna; Owen; sisters-in-law, Margit, Marolyn, Romaine, Lorna, Bina; brothers-in-law, George, Harry, George; numerous nieces and nephews. Kelly was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Dolly; sister Josie; brothers Robbie and Donald. Kelly served as a signalman with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War on motor torpedo boat No. 745, serving in Great Britain, Belgium and Holland. "My Kelly" (as Vi affectionately called him) married Vi (Switzer) July 30, 1948. They lived in Montgomery then moved to Balzac operating the Balzac store in the 1950s and 1960s. Vi and Kelly moved to Calgary in 1962, returning to the small-town life of Airdrie in the early 1980s. Kelly was a much sought-after carpenter building every thing from his daughters' doll cradle and desks to campers and houses. Kelly and Vi enjoyed travelling in their motorhome seeing much of Canada and the U.S. He was a pool shark spending numerous mornings playing pool at the Airdrie Legion, No. 288 which he founded and was the first president of. The family would like to thank Unit 61 of the Foothills Hospital for the excellent care Kelly received. Visitation/Viewing will be Thursday, June 15, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at McInnis and Holloway, 300 Towerlane Drive, Airdrie with a celebration of Kelly's life taking place at the Royal Canadian Legion, 508 - 3 Avenue S.E., Airdrie, Friday, June 16, at 2:00 p.m. Burial to follow in the Field of Honour at the Airdrie Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family through www.mcinnisandholloway.com . If you so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 215 - 12 Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alberta T2G 1A2 (Telephone 403-205-3066) in the hope that one day a cure will be found.
