Bruce A. Campbell, 88, Sarasota, died March 13, 2002. He was born March 1, 1914, in Newark, N.J., and came to Sarasota 24 years ago from Pittsburgh. He retired in 1976 as a mechanical engineer with Foster-Wheeler Corp. He graduated from Cornell University with a mechanical engineering degree and earned a master's degree from the University of Michigan. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, serving as a lieutenant colonel in the South Pacific. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, a Shriner and a member of Western Pennsylvania Engineering Society. He was a Presbyterian. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis J.; daughters Theodora E. Seaborn of Albertsville, Ala., and Carol L. Carcione of Nashville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. No visitation is scheduled. A memorial service will be later in Pittsburgh.
