BETTY SUEWARREN, 78 CHESAPEAKE, VA - Betty Sue Warren, 78, was welcomed into Heaven by Jesus on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Sue was born September 14, 1934 in Dundee, Florida to Henry and Eula Mae Miller. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister Joyce Mikell. Sue was married to James Porter Warren for 59 years. Sue was Momma to 5 children: Kathy Peterson, Lonnie Warren, Alan Warren, Larry Warren and Kim Starks. She was "Nanny Sue" to 10 grandchildren: James Warren, Michael Warren, Rebecca W. Jones, Scott Peterson, Sarah Hall, Joshua Starks, Jessica Starks, Rachel Starks, Sydney Warren and Hannah Warren; and 2 great-grandchildren Elijah Hall and Cody Peterson. Sue was a long time choir member at her home church, St. John's Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and an avid fan of gospel music concerts. Nanny Sue enjoyed crocheting, reading, traveling, and rocking her grandbabies. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 10:00-10:30 AM with the funeral service at 10:30 AM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care Haines City. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. John's Baptist Church Building Fund, 2300 Holland Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23453 or Sentara Hospice Services, 535 Independence Parkway, Suite 200, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
